Properties > Cross Sections > Reference Sets

Viewing the cross-section table with reference sets which are defined for the cross-section.  Reference sets are geometric entities describing the position in the cross-section of  different relevant quantities. These are for instance points where stresses shall be evaluated, points or lines where longitudinal reinforcement is aligned or characteristic points and  polygons used in cross-section proof check routines (like perimeter for torsion check).

The window contains 4 areas: Top left the table of cross-sections with basic parameters, top right a graphic presentation of the cross-section, bottom left the table of reference sets in the current cross-section (or cross-section part), and bottom right the table of reference points of the currently selected reference set.

SettingDescription
Cross-section table (top left)
  • Group: Group name of the cross-section
  • Name: Name of the individual cross-section (variant of grouped cross-sections)
  • Catalogue Name: Name of the respective catalog cross-section in the case the cross-section has been taken over from the predefined cross-section catalog.
  • N-Part: Number of individual Parts of the cross-section
Graphic presentation (top right) The graphical view shows the cross section with all its parts. The part currently selected in the lower left table is drawn in signal color (red).
  • GraphSet:Function for modification of the presentation (selection of presented properties of the whole cross-section.
  • PartSet:Function for modification of the presentation (selection of presented properties of the currently selected cross-section part).
  • Mark pnt:Option for switching on or off the element boundary marking
  • Zoom:Option for maximizing the presentation of the current cross-section part.
Table of reference sets (bottom left)
  • Part: Number of the cross-section part to which the RefSets of the table are assigned
  • RefSet: Name of the reference set
  • Type: Type of the reference set
  • AttrSet: Attribute set which is assigned to the the respective reference set.
Table of reference points of the marked reference set (bottom left)
  • Kw.: Type of the reference point
  • POINT: Individual point
  • LINETO: Start point of a line to the next point
  • CURVETO: Start point of a curve to the next point
  • Suffix +: Only for sets of the type "Stress points": Primary stresses will be individually stored and not later recalculated using a plane strain assumption.
  • Pnt name:Name of the reference point
  • z-p, y-p: Coordinates of the reference point in the cross-section coordinate system
  • z-c, y-c: Only for points of the type CURVETO: Coordinates of a 2nd point on  the curve (center point) in the cross-section coordinate system.
